Managing Director/Consulting Arborist

As a young boy Alex was obsessed with plants and trees. Studying Bonsai at the age of 12, he has quite a collection. Starting in the industry in 1996 Alex built and ran Byron Bay Tree Services P/L, a successful tree service business for 23 years. During this time and to further his knowledge he attained his Cert V, Diploma in Arboriculture. Alex was exposed to many tree related issues that could only be rectified by experienced arborists. Never afraid to reach-out to Arborists with greater knowledge, Alex has gained trust with leading industry colleagues and has access to a shared greater wealth of knowledge with these colleagues.

In 2024 Alex pivoted Byron Bay Tree Services to be a dedicated Arboricultural consulting firm focusing on the retention and Protection of trees.

He is passionate about trees and the environment and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the consulting environment. Certification and qualifications include: 

• Diploma of Arboriculture, AQF5

• ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ)

• QTRA Registered User

• Member of AA (Arboriculture Australia)

• Member of ISA (International Society of Arboriculture)

• Member of QAA (Queensland Arboricultural association)
